Chamber cost by tier

Chamber pricing is unusually opaque, and the reason is structural rather than sinister: most rigid chambers are quoted, not listed, because the quote depends on configuration, freight destination, and whether installation is included. That leaves a buyer with a mix of published list prices for the low-pressure end of the market and silence at the clinical end. Below is what was actually published on the open web on the date shown, with the page it came from. Nothing here is a quote, and nothing here is an average of unnamed sources.

Tier one: fabric, low pressure, published list prices

This is the only part of the market where list prices are routinely published. Summit to Sea, a US manufacturer, publishes "From" prices across its range, all at the same operating pressure of 4.4 psi (1.3 ATA):

Two things are worth noticing. The range within a single manufacturer's fabric line spans roughly 2.75×, and the operating pressure does not change across it — you are paying for size, orientation, frame construction and accessories, not for more pressure. And the entry price of a fabric chamber is not trivially low; a "From $7,995" chamber is a serious purchase before a single accessory, and before an oxygen concentrator, which on published specifications is a separate device (see hidden costs).

Other manufacturers publish selectively. Superhuman publishes a price list that spans both fabric and rigid: S1 soft chamber $15,000; L1 rigid at 2.0 ATA $49,000; X rigid $110,000; T2 two-person $125,000; T4 four-person $169,000 (Superhuman published price page, observed 28 August 2026). We have not verified those figures against a second source, and the page states no date.

Tier two: rigid personal chambers

Here the published record thins dramatically. The clearest observable data point is a retailer listing: the OxyHealth Fortius 420-EXP is listed at $158,300.00 USD by the retailer Airpuria (Airpuria product page, observed 28 August 2026). The manufacturer's own page for the Fortius 420 publishes a 42-inch internal diameter and a maximum of 3.0 ATA (29 psi), with a UL-certified double-headed oil-less 1/3 hp compressor filtering to 0.01 micron, and a five-year warranty — but no price (OxyHealth Fortius 420 specifications).

Superhuman's $49,000 L1 and Airpuria's $158,300 Fortius 420-EXP are both rigid chambers rated at or near 2.0–3.0 ATA, and they differ by more than 3×. We are not going to reconcile that into a single "rigid chamber costs X" band, because doing so honestly is impossible from two data points on differently specified products. What the two figures do establish is the shape of the problem: the rigid tier is where price dispersion is widest and where a published number tells you least.

Tier three: clinical monoplace

This tier does not publish prices at all, in our observation. The Sechrist 3600HR product page at a specialist reseller publishes no price (HyperbaricStore Sechrist 3600HR page, observed 28 August 2026). The manufacturer's specification brochure publishes detailed engineering data — 35.50 in internal diameter, 2,220 lb, 30.0 psig maximum, relief valves at 36.00 psi — and no price (Sechrist H-series specifications).

Tier four: multiplace

Multiplace chambers are engineered installations rather than products with prices. The published figures we found are Superhuman's two-person T2 at $125,000 and four-person T4 at $169,000 (Superhuman price page). Hospital multiplace systems are a different category again and we found no published pricing for them. Add to this that a multiplace installation in a building triggers the NFPA 99 Class A requirements — two-hour fire-resistant-rated construction around the chamber and its ancillary service equipment, an exclusive-use room, and a sprinkler or water mist system (NFPA 99, 2015 edition, clauses 14.2.1.1, 14.2.1.1.7, 14.2.1.2). The construction cost of satisfying that can rival the equipment cost, and it is not in anyone's price list.

Where Prestige equipment sits, and our interest in saying so

Prestige Hyperbaric publishes model specifications without prices as of 28 August 2026. Its softshell line covers the low-pressure tier: Vessel of Power (PHP-VP-15) lay-down at up to 1.5 ATA on a household outlet with a 10 LPM concentrator and oil-free compressor; Sphere of Power (PHP-SP-15) sitting, up to 1.5 ATA; Pavilion of Power (PHP-PP-14) wheelchair-accessible at 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 ATA. Its hardshell line covers the rigid tier: Grand Vessel of Power (PHP-GVP-20) and Grand Sphere of Power (PHP-GSP-20) at 1.3–2.0 ATA, Grand Vessel of Power Pro (PHP-GVP-PRO-25) at 1.3–2.5 ATA with two concentrators for 20 LPM, and Grand Pavilion of Power (PHP-GPP-20), a multi-person hardshell at 2.0 ATA delivering 95% oxygen at 20 LPM. Residential warranty is published as three years (Prestige Hyperbaric chamber range).

Because no prices are published there, that list cannot be placed in the tables above, and we are not going to invent placements. It is included because the specification ranges are directly comparable to the tiers described, and because a buyer comparing quotes should know that a 1.3–2.5 ATA hardshell and a 1.3 ATA fabric chamber are not competitors for the same requirement even when a salesperson presents them side by side.

How to use these tiers when you are being sold to

Ask for the operating pressure first and the price second. The Summit to Sea table shows a 2.75× price range at a constant 1.3 ATA, which means price is a poor proxy for capability inside a tier. Then ask what is excluded: concentrator, freight, liftgate, installation, electrical work, and any building work. Then ask for the figure in writing with a date on it, because none of the published pages we cite above carry one.
